Borrego August 13, 2015November 6, 2016 / santinacooper A lone ram looking over Palm Canyon.“Borrego” is the Spanish word for the bighorn sheep which also happen to be the stars of California’s Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. And on my several hikes with fifth graders this last February and March, we got lucky enough to see the sheep – including their lambs – several times. A herd of peninsular bighorn sheep quenching their thirst. But this spring in the desert was also great for wildflowers.
